Qualifications:

Education:

Experience:

  • One year experience working in an office environment legal office environment or court registry.
  • One year clerical experience, education and/or training.

Court Services Branch is responsible for the delivery of all court administration services in BC. These consist of registry, trial support and Sheriff Services for all levels of court.  The Registry provides the infrastructure to process documents that are required by the court to ensure timely and effective processing of court cases and support to the justice system.

The purpose of this position is to provide court clerk duties and counter service (with limited signing authorities) for an integrated Court Registry. This position reports to the Supervisor / Registry Technician / Justice of the Peace. The position is responsible for interpreting documentation in court files to ensure accurate information in processing documents and processing court files.  The position interacts with members of the public, the bar, and the judiciary.

  • Demonstrated experience in program or project management.
  • Demonstrated experience working on land and resource management issues.

Preference may be given to applicants with/who are:

  • Senior Fireline Certification (i.e. Type 2 or higher) or Incident Commander.
  • Registered or eligible to register, within 6 months, with the Association of BC Forest Professionals.

The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is a unique program of government tasked with the responsibility of preventing and managing wildfire on the landscape. With a workforce of approximately 1600 the program’s staff are dedicated to undertaking the BCWS mandate in delivering effective wildfire management and emergency response support to protect values, while encouraging sustainable, healthy and resilient ecosystems.

This position is responsible for recommending and implementing strategies and provides advice and guidance to enable land managers, stakeholders and staff to achieve prevention objectives in a Fire Centre.
