Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Degree in natural resource management or a related field, or diploma in natural resource management or a related field with three years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Related experience working in natural resource management; preference may be given for experience related to water management.

  • Experience performing technical duties and working with key statutes that support natural resource management; preference may be given for experience related to water management.

Duties:

Water is fundamental to BC's communities, ecosystems, food supply and economy. The provincial water program is a diverse group of highly collaborative people who help support and make robust and durable decisions with evidence-based policy and sound science. Program staff works with internal and external partners to help ensure provincial water management is effective and sustainable.

As the Senior Resource Technologist - Water, you provide technical expertise and senior technical advisory services to support staff and programs in the natural resource sector.

You have exceptional skills in interpretation and application of legislation, policy and procedures.

Your strong communication skills assist you as you draw conclusions, make recommendations and prepare comprehensive reports.

For this position you must be willing to conduct field work which may include travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, overnight or extended stay in rough camp conditions and outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Wages:

The starting wage is $17.00/hr during the 90 working day probationary period.

After the probationary period, a shared benefit package commences and employees become eligible for an additional $1.00/hr attendance and safety bonus. After one year of employment, the wage increases to $18.00/hr.

Qualifications:

East Fraser Fiber Co. Ltd, a secondary wood manufacturing facility, located at 1000 Sheppard Road, Mackenzie, BC, requires General Labourers.

  • The successful candidate will be physically able to complete the duties of production line work.

  • The company offers comprehensive on-the-job training. 

  • Experience in a Fingerjoint mill is an asset but not a requirement. 

  • Successful applicants will have strong interpersonal skills and be safety and quality oriented.

  • The position requires good eye/hand coordination and involves lengthy periods of hand/arm/wrist use, and standing.

Duties:

The general labourer position involves use of conveyors, monitors, scanners, and ripsaws. In addition, responsibilities will also include handling and sorting trim blocks to separate and/or direct usable and unusable pieces and general clean-up.
