Salary $56,197.66 - $64,017.66 annually, effective Feb. 4, 2018, plus $38.87 bi-weekly isolation allowance for the Mackenzie location.

Qualifications:

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Diploma in forest engineering, forest management, engineering or equivalent related field, plus two years of recent work experience in a directly related field within the last five years.
    OR
    An equivalent combination of education and experience such as three years of experience, attained within the last five years, in two or more in the following areas: road and block layout, forestry contract administration, forest engineering and engineering.
  • Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration with the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals as a Registered Forest Technologist.
  • Must possess at minimum a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License that does not limit or restrict the ability to conduct the duties of the job.

Lesser qualified applicants may be considered at a lower classification.

Duties:
  • The Engineering Technologist is responsible for coordinating, implementing and monitoring engineering activities for a specific field area in a TSO. 
  • The position provides engineering expertise and advice to operational staff and works closely with the Engineering Specialist and Woodlands Supervisor to ensure environmental, construction and legislative requirements are met.
  • The position is required to administer parts of the engineering program including contractual engineering services for the Timber Supply Office.
