We are currently accepting resumes for a Heavy Duty / Commercial Transport Mechanic Apprentice or Journeyman Mechanic to join our Fort St. John or Grande Prairie team.

  • Minimum 2rd year apprentice ticket in one of the following trades: Commercial Transport or Heavy Duty Mechanic.
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset).
  • Must pass a clean drug test.
  • Provide hard hat, gloves, and work boots.
  • Housing available.

Additional consideration to candidates who:

  • Possess journeyman experience in commercial transport.
  • Possess valid H2S and First Aid.
  • Belong to a designated group (e.g Aboriginal, visible minorities, women, persons with disabilities).
Duties:

Mechanics are expected to perform the following duties:

  • Be available for work according to schedule arrangements.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks as required.
    • Oil Changes and Servicing
    • Inspections
    • Basic Repairs
  • Rebuild pumps and other components as required.
  • Identify faulty or unsafe equipment and repair/replace as needed.
  • Clean up workspaces at the end of every task.
  • Return unused supplies, parts, and cores.
  • Assist with safety inspections.
  • Oversee, train and work with mechanic apprentices.

Qualifications:
  • A Registered Professional Forester (RPF), or be eligible for registration as an RPF with the Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP) AND two years (gained within the last five years) of experience in operational forestry such as forest tenures, cut-block and road development, engineering, silviculture, harvest operations or compliance and enforcement.
  • Must possess at minimum a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License that does not limit or restrict the ability to conduct the duties of the job.

  • The Planning Forester analyzes and produces a wide range of data to develop integrated resource and operational plans, primarily the Forest Stewardship Plan (FSP) and operating plans.
  • The position develops and implements results and strategies to meet the FSP and ensures planning components meet legislative, operating, and certification requirements.
  • The position provides functional direction to field team professionals and technicians with expertise in timber development, harvesting, engineering and silviculture.
  • The position builds and maintains relationships with representatives from First Nations, resource stakeholders, Ministry and industry contacts.
