The preferred location for this position is Quesnel; 100 Mile House and Williams Lake may be considered, subject to the successful candidate’s current location and Ministry operational requirements A dynamic career opportunity to showcase your project management and leadership excellence The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is responsible for stewardship of Provincial Crown land and natural resources, and protection of B.C.’s archaeological and heritage resources. Overseeing a land base of 94.8 million hectares, the Ministry supports the sustainable management of forest, mineral and land resources, the prosperity, viability and competitiveness of industries that use them, and public access for a wide range of activities such as hunting, fishing and recreation. The Ministry is responsible for policy development, operational management and implementation, and oversees over 50 statutes and associated regulations. The Geospatial Services Coordinator leads a variety of resource management projects for clients and provides professional advice for the resolution of land and resource issues through the application of information and technology. The Coordinator maximizes the potential of GIS and related geospatial and information technologies in support of business and program objectives and client needs. |
