Experience/ Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or equivalent work experience is desirable.
  • 5 years or more experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in prime contract management/administration experience, including estimating variations and claims, change management, drafting commercial statements, and related functions.
  • Experience interpreting and conforming with bespoke contracts in a common-law jurisdiction.
  • Experience in a high-value civil, international construction project setting.
Duties:

The Prime Contracts Administrator is responsible for the effective management of the Prime Contracts and change between Peace River Hydro Partners and the client. Reporting to the prime contract manager, the Prime Contracts Administrator is responsible for estimating variations and claims, drafting commercial statements, cost forecasting, payment reviews and other related functions.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to demonstrate working competency in environmental inspecting and monitoring (such as field/site inspections, water sampling, field assessment of vegetation, aquatic species and wildlife), and in the use of GPS equipment.
  • Knowledge of BC Water Quality Guidelines.
  • Ensuring that fuel and other spills are properly reported and cleaned up.
  • Preparing daily reports and incident reports.
  • Ability to identify bird species from sight and sound, as well as conduct bird nest sweeps surveys and implement mitigation measures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Possess a robust work ethic and be able to work independently, while able to thrive in a team environment.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in the writing of technical reports, data entry, data compilation and the management of databases.

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in environmental studies or technology from an institute of recognized standing with a minimum of (5) years of related experience in environmental planning and monitoring on large construction projects.
  • Possess mature judgment and the ability to succeed with minimal supervision both independently and as a team member in an active construction environment.
  • Must be willing to work 2-1 rotation schedule in a camp.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
Duties:

Under the general direction of the Site Environmental Manager, and with minimum supervision, the successful Environmental Coordinator has the primary responsibility for coordinating the activities of the Environmental Monitoring teams, who will conduct monitoring activities to ensure that construction activities comply with environmental protection plans. The Environmental Coordinator will also communicate with construction teams to deal with any issues that arise, and will produce environmental monitoring reports using information compiled by the monitors.
