Wages:

Classification 7 ($21.12 - $21.77 per hour), as per BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees also receive an additional $0.50/hr. in lieu of benefits, as well as having 6% vacation pay paid out with each pay.

Qualifications:
  • As you’ll be working with young children, an Early Childhood Education License is required.  An ECE Assistant License or a Diploma in progress may be considered.
  • We also require previous experience working with children.
  • A Standard First Aid ticket is also preferred.
  • Prior to confirmation of employment, the successful employee must demonstrate satisfactory results of a criminal record search.
Duties:

Do you love working with children?  Do you enjoy planning activities and implementing fun, educational daycare programs? 

We require an individual on a relief on call basis to assist in the planning and implementation of daycare programs and activities for the children.  Duties include preparing snacks and meals, organizing special outings and providing escort to children during these outings. Other duties will include cleaning facilities and equipment (according to the Licensing Regulation).

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience using bolt drillers or jumbos.
  • Knowledge of basic machinery schemes and diagram interpretation.
  • Knowledge of drilling bits and bars.
  • Ability to detect the main equipment fails and breakdowns.
  • Must be team player and must be willing to participate in company safety and production requirements.
  • Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
  • Able to pass any pre-access screening, including a Drug and Alcohol test.
  • Valid Driver's Licence complemented by a good driver’s abstract.
  • Mine Rescue certification valid in British Columbia would be an asset.
Duties:

Reporting to the Tunnel Foreman, the driller is responsible for operating bolt drilling equipment in a tunnel/ underground setting. Equipment includes: Atlas Copco Boltec, Simba 7 and Jumbo’s.

Underground Mechanic - Site C (15)

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with heavy duty mechanical work in a mining environment.
  • General knowledge of combustion engines, hydraulic units, mechanical devices, heating, etc.
  • Specific knowledge of underground equipment reparation and maintenance; jumbos, roadheaders, shotcrete spraying machines, telehandlers, mixers trucks and another underground equipment.
  • Familiar with maintenance handbooks and spare-part drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Must be team player and must be willing to participate in company safety and production requirements.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and inventory systems for parts management.
  • Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics, including schematics and diagnostics.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.
  • Able to pass any pre-access screening, including a Drug and Alcohol test.
  • Valid Driver's Licence complemented by a good driver’s abstract.
Duties:

Reporting to the Tunnel Foreman, the Tunnel Mechanic is responsible for repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain underground and surface equipment. The underground Mechanic will also work on the ventilation, pumping, dewatering system and other activities related to underground works.
