Qualifications:
  • Experienced Nozzleman/Shotcrete Operator that holds valid ACI certification.
  • Any prior soil stabilization, grouting, or foundation mitigation experience.
  • Prior construction industry experience as a carpenter or framer for example is an asset.
  • Prior concrete experience such as a concrete finisher/form builder or shotcrete experience.
  • Must not be afraid of heights.
  • A Class 5 Driver's License with clean driving abstract.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Must possess decision making and problem solving skills by analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Must be physically fit and able to work in remote camp locations.
Duties:

Reporting the Superintendent, the Nozzleman/Shotcrete Operator is responsible for soil stabilization and foundation mitigation using shotcrete and/or grouting procedures.

$60,453.00 - 71,807.00 annual starting wage, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement, with annual increments up to a maximum salary of $92,582.00. Faculty employees receive 240 hours of vacation annually, pro-rated and front-loaded, based on FTE, as well as time off paid between the Christmas and New Year’s Day period.  We offer an extremely competitive extended health and dental program, along with MSP (provincial health) coverage. 

Qualifications:
  • The preferred minimum educational qualification is a North American Master’s Degree in Accounting or in a closely related discipline.  An equivalent combination of education, a relevant professional designation, and related work experience may be considered. 
  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level would be considered an asset.
