$36.94 - $46.03, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement.  Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Administrative Assistant Certificate or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, communication, and conflict resolution skills

Preferred:

  • 3 - 5 years office administration experience in Canada; and
  • Post-secondary instructional experience.
Duties:

NLC requires a temporary Applied Business Technology instructor (or instructors) to deliver the Office Assistant Certificate on the Fort St. John campus. Although there will be a minimum of approximately 10 instructional hours per week as the program begins, overall the hours per week may vary and are open to discussion.  The successful candidate will have an ability to engage Indigenous students through an intrinsic understanding of the history of Indigenous education, and of related historical and contemporary issues. There is a possibility of renewal from September 2019 through December 2019 for delivery of the Administrative Assistant Certificate.
