Primary Care Paramedic - Site C (2)

Qualifications:

Certification

  • British Columbia EMT / PCP Licensing with IV Endorsement.

  • ITLS Basic Certification.

  • Paramedic In Industry (PII) Certification.

  • Class 4 Operators License or equivalent.

Experience

  • 1-2 years practicing as a Primary Care Paramedic.

  • Previous heavy civil construction experience is considered an asset.

  • Preference will be given to persons with additional fire/emergency response certifications such as NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter I & II, NFPA 1670 Technical Rescue (Awareness & Operations levels), NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials (Awareness & Operations levels), etc.

Duties:
  • Reports to the PRHP Emergency Preparedness Manager/Coordinator through the PRHP ACP Position.

  • Participate in morning toolbox meetings and/or hazardous work pre-job safety meetings.

  • Respond to all work-related injury calls onsite.

  • Comply with PRHP SOPPs (Both work and non-work related).

  • Operate clinically within boundaries of the professional licenses of the incumbent.

  • Maintain standards of practice consistent with the provincial governing regulatory body.

  • Ensure that patients are managed in a professional manner.

  • Undertake triage of patients as requested.

  • Emergency dispatching operations.

  • Have a good working knowledge of Medical Records storage and retrieval.

  • Ensure equipment and transport vehicles are ready 24/7 to undertake all medical retrieval services at the start of each shift.

  • Ensure all stock is intact and within date.

  • Maintain inventories of all stock as per the procedure.

  • Ensure infection control practices are followed at all times.

  • Ensure adequate supplies of PPE are available.

  • Participate in annual skills assessment testing in basic life support and other identified skills.

  • Actively maintain skills through ongoing education.

  • Understand equipment maintenance program and participate as appropriate when requested.

  • Maintain patient records as care is provided in an objective, complete, and timely manner.

  • Participate in scheduled meetings and other activities as requested.

  • Prepare reports relating to the specific area of responsibility as requested.

  • Any other duties that may be requested from time to time by management.

  • Assist in writing of procedures as requested from time to time.

  • Participate in PRHP Emergency Response Team training exercises.
