Qualifications:
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of industry experience, working directly in Tunnelling or underground mining.
  • Knowledge of blasting charges.
  • Must be team player and must be willing to participate in company safety and production requirements.
  • Effective communication skills; must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, report progress or issues to foreman/lead hand.
  • Have good judgment and ability to make decisions.
  • Responsible and dependable.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads repeatedly through an entire work shift.
  • Requires good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
  • Able to pass any pre-access screening, including a Drug and Alcohol test.
  • Valid Drivers Licence complemented by a good driver’s abstract.
  • Mine Rescue certification valid in British Columbia would be an asset.
Duties:

The Underground Miner is responsible for general labourer tasks within the tunnelling operation. This will include things such as site clean-up, loading and unloading of materials, operating equipment and will require shift work covering both days and nights in all weather conditions.

Underground Mechanic - Site C (15)

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with heavy duty mechanical work in a mining environment.
  • General knowledge of combustion engines, hydraulic units, mechanical devices, heating, etc.
  • Specific knowledge of underground equipment reparation and maintenance; jumbos, roadheaders, shotcrete spraying machines, telehandlers, mixers trucks and other underground equipment.
  • Familiar with maintenance handbooks and spare-part drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Must be team player and must be willing to participate in company safety and production requirements.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and inventory systems for parts management.
  • Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics, including schematics and diagnostics.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.
  • Able to pass any pre-access screening, including a Drug and Alcohol test.
  • Valid Driver's Licence complemented by a good driver’s abstract.
Duties:

Reporting to the Tunnel Foreman, the Tunnel Mechanic is responsible for repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain underground and surface equipment. The underground Mechanic will also work on the ventilation, pumping, dewatering system and other activities related to underground works.

Underground Bolt Driller/Jumbo Operator - Site C (10)

Qualifications:
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience using bolt drillers or jumbos.
  • Knowledge of basic machinery schemes and diagram interpretation.
  • Knowledge of drilling bits and bars.
  • Ability to detect the main equipment fails and breakdowns.
  • Must be team player and must be willing to participate in company safety and production requirements.
  • Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
  • Able to pass any pre-access screening, including a Drug and Alcohol test.
  • Valid Driver's Licence complemented by a good driver’s abstract.
  • Mine Rescue certification valid in British Columbia would be an asset.
Duties:

Reporting to the Tunnel Foreman, the driller is responsible for operating bolt drilling equipment in a tunnel/ underground setting. Equipment includes: Atlas Copco Boltec, Simba 7 and Jumbo’s.
