UNDER REVIEW Classification 7, $37,523.16-$38,683.66 annually, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Northern Lights College offers a competitive extended health and dental benefit package, and MSP is employer paid. Full time employees receive 119 hours of vacation annually, pro-rated and front loaded, and receive the time off with pay for the period of December 25th-January 1st, each year.

Qualifications:
  • Applied Business Technology certificate or equivalent, and a minimum of one year of clerical experience is required.

  • Experience and proficiency with MS Office is required.

  • Experience in a supportive capacity with post-secondary students and in a multicultural environment preferred.

  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills are essential.

  • Must be able to work in a team environment, multi-task, and work independently.

  • A minimum of 45 wpm is required and the selection process will include completion of a comprehensive clerical test.

  • Must currently hold a valid Driver's License, and be available to work flexible hours including some weekend or evening hours.

Duties:

The International Admissions Assistant reports to the Director of International Education and is guided by the Coordinator of International Education. The role works collaboratively with the international education team and domestic student admissions team to maintain a high standard in admissions processes and customer service for international applicants. The International Admissions Assistant maintains a superior knowledge of NLC programs and international admission standards and provides administrative support to Coordinator and Director as required.

  • Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Current practicing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.

Duties:

The Pharmacy Technician operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and scope of practice and standards of practice for Pharmacy Technicians as outlined by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols.

  • Processes medication orders that are clinically reviewed for therapeutic appropriateness and approved by a Pharmacist.

  • Receives verbal and non-verbal prescriptions from practitioners and ensures that prescriptions are complete and authentic.

  • Prepares, processes and compounds prescriptions.

  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions prepared by self or others by verifying order entries and/or performing the final check of dispensed prescriptions.

  • Processes prescriptions for temporary inpatient leaves of absence.

  • Transfers prescriptions to and receives prescriptions from other pharmacies.

  • Enters and ensures the accuracy and completeness of drug and personal health information in the Pharmacy information system.

  • Graduation from a recognized Health Information Management program.

  • Certified by the Canadian College of Health Information Management and eligible for active membership with the Canadian Health Information Management Association.

  • Knowledge of protection of privacy and freedom of information legislation, patient's rights to confidentiality and legal requirements for the production of records.

  • Knowledge of health information systems and database management, statistical calculations, and interpretation of reports from administrative and clinical databases.

  • One year's recent related experience in a HIMS department of an acute care health care facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Duties:

Reporting to the respective HSDA Regional Manager, Records Management, ROI & Registration Services, the HIM Advisor is an integral member of both the regional Health Information Management team and the local health service delivery team.

  • The HIM Advisor provides leadership to their community(ies) on appropriate collection, access and use of health information through the development and application of health information standards in records management, release of information and registration utilizing technology available for distance communications as well as face to face visits when appropriate.

  • They support and participate in the evaluation of adherence to HIM standards.

  • The HIM Advisor assists in the development, testing, implementation support, maintenance and enhancement of relevant health information systems/applications and provides support and training services for a variety of internal and external users.

  • The HIM Advisor facilitates the consequential organizational changes created by the implementation and ongoing use health information systems, policies and procedures.
