Intermediate Information Technologist

Wages:

Classification 16, $47,113.71-$48,570.83 annually, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Annual vacation (119 hours) is pro-rated and front loaded. We offer competitive extended health and dental benefits, as well as cover the basic medical services plan fees. Support Collective Agreement includes time off for family illness, personal illness, and other special leaves. Closure during the Christmas Break (Dec 25 Jan 1st) of each year is paid time off.

Qualifications:

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience servicing and maintaining, Windows OS and Windows Server systems.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Outlook and Outlook Web Access, mobile devices and SAN storage.
  • Experience in administration of telephone systems, including analog, digital, VOIP, and cellular. Mitel 3300 controller experience would be considered an asset.
  • Comptia A+ certification or equivalent combination of skills and experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Intermediate level knowledge of networking including, subnetting, vLans, data security, and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of video conferencing technologies.
  • Experience and knowledge with Apple operating systems.
  • Experience with networked imaging (Print / Copy / Scan / Fax).
  • Intermediate or advanced technical certifications.

Current Driver's License is required.

Duties:

The successful candidate will assist the Chief Information Officer accomplish the broader goal of providing quality support, maintenance, and administration of information technology related areas for all students and staff.

  • The Intermediate IT Technicians work directly and indirectly with students, faculty, and staff to provide troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, training, and support of network (video conferencing, telephony, imaging, desktop, mobile, storage, server hardware and software), and information management systems at an intermediate support level.
  • They provide assistance in project planning and management for information technology related projects, deployments and upgrades.
  • This position will also provide support to other Information Technology department staff as required.

Classification 7, $21.12 - 21.77/hr, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees are provided an additional $0.50/hr in lieu of benefits, and 6% vacation pay, for all regular hours worked.

Qualifications:
  • As you'll be working with young children, an Early Childhood Education License is required.
  • An ECE Assistant License or a Diploma in progress may be considered.
  • We also require previous experience working with children.
  • A Standard First Aid ticket is also preferred.
  • Prior to confirmation of employment, the successful employee must demonstrate satisfactory results of a criminal record search.
Duties:

Do you love working with children? Do you enjoy planning activities and implementing fun, educational daycare programs?

  • We require an individual on a relief on call basis to assist in the planning and implementation of daycare programs and activities for the children.
  • Duties include preparing snacks and meals, organizing special outings and providing escort to children during these outings.
  • Other duties will include cleaning facilities and equipment (according to the Licensing Regulation).
