  • In depth knowledge of construction purchasing requirements.

Experience/ Qualifications

Duties:

Responsible for managing the procurement and subcontracts departments, the Procurement/Subcontract Manager oversees planning, developing and buying materials, parts, supplies, equipment and services in a timely and cost-effective manner, in accordance with the project schedule while maintaining appropriate contractual compliance, quality standards and specifications.

Responsibilities also involve providing guidance, mentorship, and training to the procurement and subcontract teams to ensure that timelines are achieved, products are received in a timely manner, progress applications are made in accordance with agreed contractual terms, and subcontracts, purchase orders and change orders are placed with appropriate terms.

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience using bolt drillers or jumbos.
  • Knowledge of basic machinery schemes and diagram interpretation.
  • Knowledge of drilling bits and bars.
  • Ability to detect the main equipment fails and breakdowns.
  • Must be team player and must be willing to participate in company safety and production requirements.
  • Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
  • Able to pass any pre-access screening, including a Drug and Alcohol test.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with heavy duty mechanical work in a mining environment.
  • General knowledge of combustion engines, hydraulic units, mechanical devices, heating, etc.
  • Specific knowledge of underground equipment reparation and maintenance; jumbos, roadheaders, shotcrete spraying machines, telehandlers, mixers trucks and other underground equipment.
  • Familiar with maintenance handbooks and spare-part drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Must be team player and must be willing to participate in company safety and production requirements.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and inventory systems for parts management.
