Qualifications:

Reporting to the Environmental Manager, this position requires a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and effective interpersonal communication and organizational skills.

  • Proficient field and office experience related to environmental monitoring and aquatics.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to make defensible fisheries related decisions with little supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in the writing of technical reports, data entry, data compilation and the management of databases.
  • Knowledge of wetland assessment would be an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma who specializes in a relevant applied science or technology.
  • A member in good standing (R.B Tech or R.P. Bio), registered with the appropriate professional association in British Columbia, acting under said association’s Code of Ethics and subject to disciplinary action by said association.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in respective area of expertise, including experience in the environmental planning and monitoring of large construction projects.
  • Previous Experience with fisheries, fish and amphibian salvages, and Environmental Protection Plans EPPs; required.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.

Please Note: This is a site based position located at the Site C Dam in Fort St. John, British Columbia. Preference will be given to qualified, local candidates. However, we will also consider fly in/out candidates based out of Vancouver, Nanaimo, Kelowna, Calgary, or Edmonton.
