Job Title:

Teaching Home Support Worker

Wages:

$18.15 – 21.14/hr depending on experience.
Full benefits including pension after successful probation.

Qualifications:
  • Diploma in a related human/social service field.
  • One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • You must have a valid BC Driver’s License, and a reliable vehicle. Annual vehicle inspections are required.
Duties:
  • May provide transportation for clients.
  • Provide teaching and assistance for activities such as cooking, grooming, money management, shopping, and laundry to families referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
  • Does cleaning, including extensive cleaning and disposal, major clean-up of the home interior including moving furniture and oven cleaning.
  • Assists families to function more independently in their own homes through the teaching of daily life skills.
  • Participates in the development of service plans, provides progress notes and other required documentation.
  • Liaises with other community agencies as needed.

Family Advancement Counsellor

Qualifications:
  • A degree in social work, counselling or a related field.
  • Two years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • You must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to operate a PC and related software.
Duties:
  • Provides counselling to school age children and their families.
  • Assists families in meeting the developmental needs of their children and to strengthen and utilize their network of social supports.
  • This position will also be responsible for intake for several children serving programs.
