Qualifications:
  • Ability to demonstrate working competency in environmental inspecting and monitoring (such as field/site inspections, water sampling, field assessment of vegetation, aquatic species and wildlife), and in the use of GPS equipment.
  • Knowledge of BC Water Quality Guidelines.
  • Ensuring that fuel and other spills are properly reported and cleaned up.
  • Preparing daily reports and incident reports.
  • Ability to identify bird species from sight and sound, as well as conduct bird nest sweeps surveys and implement mitigation measures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Possess a robust work ethic and be able to work independently, while able to thrive in a team environment.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in the writing of technical reports, data entry, data compilation and the management of databases.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in environmental studies or technology from an institute of recognized standing with a minimum of (5) years of related experience in environmental planning and monitoring on large construction projects.
  • Possess mature judgment and the ability to succeed with minimal supervision both independently and as a team member in an active construction environment.
  • Must be willing to work 2-1 rotation schedule in a camp.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
Duties:

Under the general direction of the Site Environmental Manager, and with minimum supervision, the successful Environmental Coordinator has the primary responsibility for coordinating the activities of the Environmental Monitoring teams, who will conduct monitoring activities to ensure that construction activities comply with environmental protection plans. The Environmental Coordinator will also communicate with construction teams to deal with any issues that arise, and will produce environmental monitoring reports using information compiled by the monitors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge in Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Outlook.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Keyboard and typing skills.
  • Punctual.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to format and review official communication, papers and forms.
  • Ability to create and update fillable PDF forms.
  • Creation and maintenance of Excel templates, including use of high level data analysis tools such as Pivot tables.

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma.
  • 2+ years of directly related experience.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to organize, schedule, and complete work on various concurrent assignments with a minimum of supervision.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of office administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and external contractors.
  • Possess strong software skills in all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Database and PowerPoint).
  • Experience working in remote construction camps locations an asset.
  • Creative, organized, self motivated, and capable of achieving broadly defined objectives.
  • Ability to handle confidential data with discretion.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Duties:

Under the general guidance of the Environmental Manager or delegate, the administrative assistant will perform a variety of complex clerical and administrative support functions for the Site C Clean Energy Project within the environmental department. The incumbent will be responsible for providing detailed administrative support to the Environmental Department.
