Duties are to include but are not limited to:

Primary

  • Process customer orders via face-to-face, phone, email, etc., ensuring accuracy and efficiency are maintained.
  • Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints.
  • Approach customer(s) proactively on the sales floor and offer assistance in answering questions or locating appropriate products or services.
  • Process various cash transactions (e.g. cash, debit, credit, etc.) accurately and efficiently.
  • Clean and maintain sales & service area, including but not limited to: counters, floor and garbage.
  • Greet customer(s) entering or leaving the store to ensure they feel acknowledged and appreciated.
  • Proactively increase awareness and knowledge of products and application through product knowledge meetings, peer mentorship and self motivated research.
  • Assist customers with inquires regarding inventory and application, involving the appropriate people where necessary.
  • Assist customer(s) with loading and unloading products to vehicles.
  • Assist in answering, handling and directing incoming calls as necessary.

Secondary

  • Assist with overflow of customers from the cash counter, involving the appropriate people where necessary.

Duties:

The bookkeeper / clerical staff are primarily responsible for daily cash and account functions in an accurate and efficient manner. This includes, cash balancing, filing, reconciling customer accounts, and sorting invoices, as well as, other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain professional confidentiality of all store and customer records.
  • Daily cash balancing and processing change orders for cashiers; trouble shoot cashier problems sort reports and distribute.
  • Tabulate and audit daily sales records and POS transaction reports.
  • Process Debit, M/C, Visa, Gift card till slips; reconcile to spreadsheet.
  • Prepare and make bank deposits.
  • Assist with reconciling accounts receivable and customer accounts.
  • Assist with payables and receivables including posting to general ledger.
  • Assist in preparing monthly statements.
  • Process Aeroplan.
  • Administrative duties including but not limited to filing, creating customer files, use of telephone system, customer service in person and by email and fax, taking payment of accounts and account inquiries, operate computer, copier, fax, and other office equipment.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance to provincial and federal safety legislation, as well as use of good common sense. Report any potential hazards and unsafe behaviour to management.
  • Keep work area neat, clean and orderly. Sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean, etc.
  • Work on special projects and additional duties as assigned by management after determining their priority in relation to your other responsibilities, and attend departmental/staff meetings, training sessions, etc. as required.
  • Participate in regular cycle counting, and assist in taking annual inventory counts.
