Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Early Childhood Education and Care or in a closely related discipline (i.e. Elementary Education);
  • Working knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and pedagogical narrations;
  • Excellent communication and networking skills.

Preferred:

  • Early Childhood Educator, Infant and Toddler Educator, and Special Needs Educator Certification from the BC ECE Registry (or proof of eligibility for certification) or who holds a valid BC Ministry of Education Certificate of Qualification and is in good standing with the Teacher Regulation Branch;
  • Instructional experience at the post-secondary level would be an asset, particularly post-secondary experience with Aboriginal students;
  • 3-5 years working in a licensed early care and learning program or elementary school classroom (K-3), particularly with Aboriginal children;
  • Membership in the Early Childhood Educators of BC or relevant professional organization would also be an asset; and
  • Instructional Skills Workshop (Face-to-face or Online) or Facilitating Learners Online.
Duties:

NLC’s Indigenous Human Service Worker program requires an instructor to teach HDEC 101: Human Development I. This introductory course will focus on an introduction to the theories, concepts, research methods, and findings relevant to the study of human development from prenatal through adolescence. Major developmental theories and issues are presented. Emphasis is placed on the application of life-span principles and concepts in individual and social contexts. The effects of heredity and environment, and ethical issues relevant to the research of development, are also presented.

Duties:

We are currently seeking a Compression Service Mechanic to provide service, maintenance, and repair work on gas compressors and engines in gas plants and adjacent field facilities. The successful applicant will help to maintain, develop and grow business and customer relations in the Fort St John, BC area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge about gas compression packages (including panels, controls, instrumentation and package operation) and engine/compressor component life cycles to optimize equipment run times;
  • Interpret flow sheets and drawings;
  • Demonstrate an understanding of mounting and alignment, commissioning, package operations, mechanical components, instrumentation, and electronics;
  • Perform startups, servicing, repairs, overhauls, warranty work, etc. often alone in remote locations;
  • Trouble shoot engine compressor problems;
  • Diagnose problems and provide recommendations to Service Coordinator and clients;
  • Verify all proper setting and adjustments (alignment, pull downs, rod run out, ESM, fuel gas pressure and settings, crankcase pressure, flange torqueing, cooler checks, etc);
  • Judge priorities on unit repairs in terms of down time, customer importance, potential losses, etc;
  • Provide optimal customer service;
  • Maintain documentation of mechanical services, labour time entry, expenses, parts orders, etc.
