Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Federal, State/Provincial and local industrial health, safety, and fire prevention rules, regulations, and related strategies.
  • Detailed knowledge of safety policies & procedures and fire prevention programs.
  • Knowledge of current supervisory and management techniques.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Safety and Health or related field preferred.
  • Recognized health and safety certification or the ability to achieve certification.

Experience

  • 5 or more years previous Safety and Industrial Health experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years supervisory or management experience with LP or equivalent experience.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
Duties:
  • To implement and manage all Safety, Industrial Health and Fire Prevention services, programs and initiatives for clients at an assigned facility or facilities.
  • Provide Safety, Industrial Health and Fire Prevention consultation, advice, and leadership support to a facility.
  • Ensure Safety, Industrial Health and Fire Prevention objectives are met and deployments are leveraged effectively and consistently.

This position manages complex health and safety issues and is typically considered an advanced level position managing teams and/or projects that are aligned with corporate and/or business initiatives.

  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Knowledge of company products, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of plant equipment, operations, predictive/preventative maintenance and CMMS systems and effective project management practices.
  • Knowledge of current management and supervisory techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plant equipment.
  • Demonstrated organizational, budgeting and computer skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery through the use of blue prints, P&ID schematics and root/cause failure analysis.
  • Ability to manage and direct the capital and EOM plan.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.

Experience

  • 7+ years’ directly related maintenance management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising a large group of employees.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Hydraulics, Electrical, Pneumatic, Power Transmission, Welding, and Fabrication.
  • Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
Duties:

To manage and coordinate all mechanical, electrical, process control and instrumentation work in a manufacturing facility. Develop, manage and lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs and inventory tracking procedures.
