Classification 10, $22.17/hr., as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary staff are entitled to $0.50/hr in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay, and an isolation allowance of $0.63/hr for all regular hours worked.


The preferred candidate will have experience providing instruction to adult learners who may have various levels of competency with technology, along with excellent written and verbal communication, and strong organizational abilities.


The Student Tutor will be responsible to assist and tutor students, within the College & Career Preparation program, in carrying out assigned work or in completing study packages in both academic and literary areas, as well as providing resource support to the instructor(s).

This position will have regular communication with the instructor(s) to understand instructional goals for each student being tutored and to provide ongoing monitoring and report progress of students.

This is a full time position based on 35 hours per week, to a maximum of 40 hours. Monday to Friday shifts and will also work Saturdays as required on rotating schedule. Hours of work are 8 am to 4 pm with 1 hour lunch break. Over all work schedule will be flexible based on business demand. Required to be on call for after hour emergencies

Hotel & Building Maintenance

Rate Range: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour. Based on overall experience, knowledge and training.

  • 3 month probation period, 2 weeks’ vacation after 1 year employment, Uniforms supplied, Hotel Benefit /Medial plan eligibility after 6 months of employment.
  • Subsidized housing can be negotiated in new or nearly new residential rental unit.
  • Can supply RCMP background check if requested.
  • High School preferred, other applicable technical training an asset.
  • Class 5 Drivers License with Drivers abstract required.
  • Basic First Aid, WHMIS preferred or must complete course.
  • Good knowledge of use and care of all power and hand tools.
  • Understanding of building plumbing systems, fixtures and basic repairs.
  • Knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs, janitorial, grounds, sanitation. 
  • Knowledge of mechanical HVAC system maintenance and  commercial laundry equipment,
  • Motivated self-starter works well with minimal supervision, plans daily to maximize productivity.
  • Takes initiative to identify and complete all needed repairs.
  • Will take direction from management/owner, track and report work duties as required.
  • Can react quickly and change priorities based on the demand each day.
  • Works cooperatively with other staff to achieve high level of customer satisfaction ratings.
  • To maintain the equipment, tools, supplies and in stock back up at all times.
  • To maintain a daily log book of completed tasks and work planning for review.
  • Complete paper work including PO‘s, invoice approval, work orders. 
  • Daily duties to complete building maintenance tasks for all areas, based on priority.
  • Complete maintenance tasks of regular schedule/preventive maintenance from check lists.
  • Evaluate and complete Maintenance Request Forms each day. Follow up as needed till complete.
  • Daily internal / external building checks, follow up on repairs, clean up, lighting replaced, etc
  • To assist other areas with maintenance concerns and tasks, completing in a timely manner. 
  • Order supplies as required for the maintenance department with approved suppliers.
  • Look after summer and winter outside property maintenance duties and equipment.
  • Winter sidewalk/parking lot maintenance, keeping log of all shoveling, salting, sanding, snow removal etc.
  • Provide airport shuttle bus driving support as needed and regular van maintenance.
  • To keep the maintenance shop  and all mechanical rooms organized, clean and tidy at all times
  • To set up / tear down  meeting rooms equipment as per client contracts.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance for company owned commercial buildings and rental units.
  • Weekly building checks for commercial and rental buildings, address maintenance issues.
  • Can complete physical tasks including lifting, bending, reaching, ladder work, confined spaces.
  • Be engaged in hotel health and safety program with other associates.
  • All other duties as required.
