$62,983.74 - $78,666.02 annually plus $47.84 bi-weekly isolation allowance for the Fort Nelson location

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a natural resource management related field (e.g., Forestry, Geography, or Natural Resource Management) or an equivalent combination of education/training plus, 3 or more years’ experience working in a natural resource discipline; OR,
  • Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a fully licensed professional with the British Columbia professional association as required by the specialty area (i.e. Association of Forest Professionals, Institute of Agrologists, Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists).
  • Training in project management or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated recent (within last 5 years) and relevant experience managing technical and/or professional staff in natural resource management in a direct, matrix or project management environment.
  • Demonstrated recent (within last 5 years) experience in a multiple stakeholders and partners environment understanding perspectives, conflicts and facilitating / developing solutions.
  • Recent (within last 5 years) experience related to First Nations Consultation, collaboration and relationship building.
  • Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License.

A primary focus of your role will be to forge strong working relationships and work with other ministries, First Nations, the private sector and representatives from other agencies to find the balance between economic development and environmental integrity necessary to support the development, approval and implementation of strategic land use plans and to facilitate and ensure appropriate consultation occurs at planning, adjustment, implementation, and evaluation stages. 

An experienced leader and project manager, you will coordinate and lead the development, implementation and monitoring of various strategic land use and resource management plans, as well as various projects related to addressing land and resource issues at the strategic, landscape and watershed scale of resolution.
