Wages:

Classification 8, $19,283.75 - $19,880.15 annually, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Support staff employees based at the Fort Nelson campus also receive an additional $0.63/hr as isolation allowance. Northern Lights College offers a competitive extended health and dental benefit package, and MSP is employer paid. Support Collective Agreement includes time off for family illness, personal illness, and other special leaves, based on FTE. Closure during the Christmas Break (Dec 25 – Jan 1st) of each year is paid time.

Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 and completion of formal post-secondary clerical training is preferred. 
  • Experience and proficiency with MS Office 2010, validation of cash and balance of accounts is required.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
  • Excellent customer service is essential to this position. 
  • Excellent organization skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize, attention to detail and meet deadlines while working with frequent interruptions is essential. 
  • The successful candidate must successfully complete a comprehensive clerical test. 
  • A current Driver’s License is required.
  • Experience with student records registration system is an asset.
Duties:
  • The successful candidate will be required to support all registration procedures for students and other prospective college clients, as well as keeping the computerized student records on “Colleague” current, while maintaining the internal reporting and record keeping with a high degree of accuracy.  
  • Duties will also include assistance to inquiries (student, staff and general public) in person, by telephone, or by correspondence for programs based on the Campus as well as programs available college wide. 
  • Handle routine public relations functions by exchanging general information on policies and procedures; maintain course interest lists for all program areas and follow-up with students by phone and mail. 
  • Assist staff with clerical duties with regard to their program needs. 
  • May be required to complete cash outs and bank deposits as directed. 
  • Evening and weekend work may be required on a scheduled basis.
