Digital Content Strategist

Qualifications:

School District No. 59 (Peace River South) is inviting applications for the position of temporary Digital Content Strategist (35 hrs/wk, 7 hrs/day, Monday to Friday). This is a temporary excluded, 12 month position, effective October 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019, with the possibility of an extension at that time.

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent training and experience in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or information.
  • Three or more years of experience working on websites and/or digital marketing campaigns.
  • Extensive knowledge of Google Analytics and SEO techniques, and thorough understanding of social media metrics.
  • The successful candidate must have a clear Criminal Records Review, a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and abstract, and access to own vehicle.

Duties:
  • The successful candidate will ensure that all School District No. 59 (SD59) websites and corresponding pages are maintained, updated, monitored and evaluated for making impact and consistency across the District.
  • This role utilizes a strategic skill set, including innovative and excellent writing and editing skills to assist schools, and the District, in creating dynamic, effective content for all digital assets such as websites, social media and digital marketing campaigns.
  • This role also provides general support in the areas of public relations, marketing, branding, crisis communication and event management.
