Wages:

$36.24 - $45.17/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay.

Qualifications:
  • The preferred qualifications are a Master’s Degree in Business Management or Leadership, with experience as a health professional in the Canadian health sector or a Master’s Degree in Nursing with experience in an administrative or leadership role in the Canadian health sector.
  • Equivalent combinations of health and leadership experience and education will be considered.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience.
  • The successful candidate(s) will have a commitment to working effectively as a team member, and be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities.
Duties:

Northern Lights College offers a wide variety of business management programming for students interested in working towards a career in this field. HADM 320, HADM 330, and MGMT 455 are all required courses in a Post-Degree Diploma in Business Management with a specialization in Health Administration. These courses also receive transfer credit at other post-secondary institutions. The Post-Degree Diploma in Business Management with a specialization in Health Administration is a credential that primarily attracts international students who already hold a degree in a health field.

HADM 320: Community Health Planning, HADM 330: Health Care Law and Ethics in Canada, and MGMT 455: Project Management Seminar (Health Administration Specialization) will be offered during the Winter 2018 semester (January to April) on the Dawson Creek Campus.

Interested candidates could apply to teach one or more of the courses. HADM 320 and HADM 330 each constitute a 90 hour contract comprised of 45 hours of contact time and 45 hours of preparation time. MGMT 455 is a seminar course that is comprised of 15 hours of contact time and 11.25 hours of preparation time for a total contract of 26.25 hrs.
