Job Title:

Residential Workers - Child & Youth Residential Program

Wages:

$16.60-$19.29 per hour, overnights  per diem based on the minimum daily rate set out by employment standards.
Benefit package available.

Qualifications:
  • Good team working skills and ability to network effectively with other community agencies.
  • Experience working with high risk Youth to promote healthy lifestyles and pro social development in a home and community based environment.
  • Education, experience, and a background to reflect an ability to understand behaviour and teach pro-social behaviour/lifeskills to high risk Youth.
  • Experience and ability to create, implement and participate in a supported work model for high risk youth.
  • Skill and ability to work with complex behavioural issues.
  • Skill and ability to work under high stress situations with high risk youth.
  • Willing to take training and flexible.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Diploma /Certificate in Social Work or related discipline equivalencies and experience will be considered.
  • A flexible schedule, good communication skills (oral and written) & interpersonal skills, trustworthiness, and a team player.
  • A strong philosophy of supporting people that will promote the concepts of community inclusion and empowerment.
  • A valid Drivers License, a safe operating vehicle, First Aid and you are willing to submit to a criminal record check and drivers abstract.
Duties:

You will provide direct, goal-oriented support for High Risk Youth in Dawson Creek.

  • These individuals will require intensive support in their home and a high level of social/behavioural support for community access, education and to work in the community.
  • Support will include the development of appropriate pro-social coping skills that promote socially appropriate behaviour.
  • To be taught in the home and/or community.
