We have an amazing team and we are currently looking for a Full-time Yard Hand based out of our Dawson Creek shop.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited:

  • Assisting with the loading, testing, and servicing of a vast equipment line that includes bobcats, loaders, generators, manlifts. etc.
  • Assisting customers with loading and unloading their rentals.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the yard and shop.
  • Notify Supervisor of any equipment defects.

Pursuant to the Collective Agreement, over the 90 day probation period the rate of pay is $24.10 (92% of the full wage), plus 14% in lieu of benefits. The after probation wage rate for this position is $26.20/hr, plus 14% in lieu of benefits.

Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will be a current student or recent graduate of a Planning program in Canada, and will have a solid understanding of Local Government planning in British Columbia.
  • Proven skills in research and data analysis, experience in a fast paced environment, and strong written communication skills are required.
  • The applicant will be asked to provide a Class 5, BC Driver’s License abstract.
Duties:

The Regional District is seeking an energetic individual to join our Development Services Department in our Dawson Creek office as Student Planner - starting as soon as possible.

  • Reporting to the General Manager of Development Services or designate, the Student Planner will assist in a number of ongoing, long-range planning projects; such as, official community plans, zoning bylaws and comprehensive development plans.
  • They will also assist in the processing of current planning files; such as, subdivision referrals and Agricultural Land Reserve applications.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a northern resource region and gain experience working with multiple jurisdictions and authorities.
