Duties:

Traffic control duties, including set up and take down of constructions signs, standing for long durations, and working in all weather environments, and times of day.

Education and skills:

  • Diploma in Social Work and/or experience with adults/youth that a have a developmental disability in a community based environment.
  • Outstanding communication skills and interpersonal skills, trustworthiness, organizational abilities, and a consistent team player.
  • Knowledge of local community services for people with disabilities is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft word and excel is an asset.
  • Current First Aid certificate will be provided if required.
  • Class 5 Driver's License and use of a safe and reliable vehicle.
  • Criminal Record Check mandatory.
Duties:

This position is for a support worker to provide one-on-one support with a young man that is the age of 23 years old with higher functioning Autism. The primary role of the support worker is to assist the individual with life skills, vocational/educational goals and must partake in social /recreational activities with said individual. The hours for this position will be 1-2 nights a week 4pm to 9 am. This position will be directed under the Lead Worker, but working alone with the individual.

  • Ability to work with a team and work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Education, experience, and a background to reflect an ability to understand behavior and teach accordingly.
  • To demonstrate social skills in all environments.
  • Must partake in attending athletic avenues.
  • Will need to assist in paper route 1- 2 times a week.
  • Light duty cleaning/share of household tasks/assisting; such as: sweeping, mopping, dusting, laundry, dishes, garbage, recycling.
  • Cooking for individual and self.
  • Report writing.
