Qualifications:

Library and Information Technology or New Media Design & Web Development Diploma or Certificate or two years relevant education and/experience.

  • Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
  • Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, CRO, and SEO.
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels.
  • Internet searches - evaluate information for accuracy and currency.
  • Library catalogue searches - use various search strategies to explore catalogue; uses filters to narrow down or expand results.
  • Office software - create documents using Word, have basic familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel, use internet to find help in performing more complex tasks.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of software, applications, and devices, including those not primarily used in provision of library services, is desirable.
Duties:

The Chetwynd Public Library is looking for a dynamic, outgoing person to join our Library team. Using a variety of tools and resources, the Resource Corner Coordinator delivers information resources and referrals for all ages and stages of life. This position would appeal to a creative, outgoing person with a positive attitude toward service and a strong ability to connect with people. The Resource Corner Coordinator will provide community resource and referral services via a varied mixture of communication strategies. Proactive communication through the library website and social media channels will be an essential part of the job. They will provide outstanding front-line customer service to library patrons, including circulation services. answering reference and directional questions, and directing patrons to other staff and services when appropriate. Design & implementation of adult programming will also augment library core services and community events. Coordinator will help to keep the library running smoothly by assisting with a variety of technical computer based tasks and circulation duties as directed.

  • Planning, coordination & facilitating of the Resource Corner which includes:
    • Answering enquiries from the public regarding programs and services available in our community.
    • Helping the public search for information online and fill out forms and applications.
    • Refer the public to the appropriate service provider.
    • Assist local groups, non-profits and service agencies communicate their programs, events & services.
    • Maintaining the online community calendar.
    • Assisting with the libraries Website and Social Media Content.
  • Circulation desk duties as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Recognized Library and Information Technology Diploma or Early Childhood Education Diploma is preferred. Preference will be given to someone with a diploma and a minimum of 2-3 years related experience. The ideal candidate would have training and experience in children's programming or teaching experience, ability to work independently and responsibly, strong verbal and written communication skills and a love for libraries. This person must be able to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team, demonstrate attention to detail, establish priorities, and achieve deadlines. Knowledge of information services technology including the ability to use the internet and standard electronic reference resources, as well as experience using an integrated library system are preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Friendly, positive and able to communicate well with children of all ages and their care-givers.
  • Some knowledge of children's books and children's interests.
  • Interest in preparing posters, displays and other promotional material.
  • Ability to work well on one's own and with others.

Duties:

The Chetwynd Public library is looking for a friendly and outgoing person to join our library team. The Children's Program Coordinator will be responsible for creating, implementing and evaluating children and youth programs and special events. In addition they will be tasked with assisting patrons, maintaining records, preparing reports and being part of a team approach to core library services. This position must able to develop and present engaging programs for children with a focus on early literacy and lifelong learning. An ability to form meaningful relationships in the community, including with children, caregivers, volunteers, schools, civic organizations, and the general public is key to this position.
