Job Title:

Parks Maintenance I

Qualifications:

The successful candidate shall hold a valid BC Driver’s License Class 5 and must be physically capable of performing the required duties; minimum two years’ experience in grounds maintenance; must have Occupational First Aid Level 1.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Horticulture Operations.

Duties:

Join us at the District of Chetwynd – we have an opening for a term, full-time seasonal Parks Maintenance I for the Parks department from approximately May 6 to September 30, 2019.

Reporting to a designated supervisor(s), duties will include, but are not limited to, supervision of seasonal employees including students; and all duties related to the maintenance of parks, playgrounds, greenspaces/flowers, cemetery care, garbage collection, and lawn care including operation of equipment.

Qualifications:

The Outreach/Safehouse Coordinator will have:

  • A diploma in Social Work or Public Administration.
  • Two years recent, related experience.
  • Experience in supervised settings in services to women and children who are victims of abuse, or.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Duties:

The Outreach Worker/Safehouse Coordinator will:

  • Assist in the development of networks and the coordination of services with community support agencies, in and between communities, that provide services to adult women and their dependent child(ren) who have experienced, or are at risk of experiencing abuse, threats or violence.
  • Provide public education and coordinate awareness activities around the issue of violence against women.
  • Respond to the specific needs of women who have fled abuse by providing supportive counselling, practical support, advocacy, referral and follow up.
