Wages and salary will be based on experience and qualifications and will be discussed during the interview process.

  • All applicants must be certified NCCP level 1 or higher with prior experience as a coach and/or competitive swimmer. Will consider applicants who are currently working, or willing to work towards certification.
  • Current Member in good standing of the Coaches Association of Canada (CAC) & CSCTA.
  • Excellent Organizational skills, knowledge of Hy-Tek Team Manager computer software.
  • Ability to deal with children and youth in an encouraging and positive manner.
  • Strong commitment to and understanding of long term athlete development.
  • Clear criminal record check including the vulnerable sector.
  • Valid Driver's License to transport themselves to and from swim meets.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

The Chetwynd Electric Eels Swim Club, based in beautiful Chetwynd BC announces an exciting opportunity for a motivated, energetic and enthusiastic candidate to join our team as a Head Coach beginning in the fall of 2019. The club has approximately 45 members from beginner to provincial level. Swimmers train at the Chetwynd Leisure Pool. Our club is run by a board of enthusiastic parents and volunteers who over the last few seasons have worked to increase enrolment in the club, give back to the community at various local events and, reach goals of purchasing new and updated equipment for the team including new start blocks.


  • Develop, plan and implement schedules, conduct practices, attend swim meets and team building activities.
  • Plan and provide coaching for practices (approximately 15-20 hours per week).
  • Plan and co-ordinate swim meet schedule for the season.
  • Perform administrative duties such as tracking attendance, meet entries, maintaining club records, recording and tracking swimmers progress on team unify/Hytek.
  • Promote and grow the club by recruiting and retaining swimmers.
  • Attend swim meets where our swimmers are competing.
  • Participate at club events such as fundraisers, swimathon and community events.
  • Report to the club executive by providing a coaches report at monthly executive meetings.
