Minimum Requirements

  • High school or post-secondary education.
  • Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping position.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (including high-level understanding of Word & Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to take direction & feedback from senior personnel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver License (or other province equivalent).
  • Canadian resident (Citizen or Landed Immigrant Status).
  • Ability to work irregular hours.
  • Candidates are required to relocate to Moberly Lake/Chetwynd area.

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Sage 50 or equivalent bookkeeping program.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with clients and Aboriginal communities.
  • Email etiquette training.

Established in 1998 Landsong Heritage Consulting Ltd. is a cultural and heritage resource consulting company based out of Moberly Lake, BC (located ~26 km north of Chetwynd and ~120 km southwest of Fort St. John).  Working throughout British Columbia and Alberta, we conduct archaeology, traditional land use (TLU) and traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) assessments, in addition to providing heritage resource reporting, expertise, and consultation.

This job entails working in an office environment and includes the preparation of project cost estimates and proposals as well as the management of contracts and accruals.  It also includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll in addition to other accounting and administrative tasks.  The position requires a very high level of attention to detail for quality control.  This position will include ample in-house training and continuous oversight by senior management to ensure accuracy.

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Work within company established guidelines, procedures and policies.
  • Communications with company personnel, clients and Aboriginal communities.
  • Collaboration with project managers in the financial management of projects.
  • Contract management.
  • Cost controls, including daily, weekly, and monthly project costs tracking.
  • Accounts payable & receivables processing utilizing Sage 50.
  • Invoicing, including preparation, submission & tracking.
  • Review & approval of daily personnel timesheets.
  • Review & approval of daily time tickets.
  • Adherence to the Landsong Quality Management Program (QMP).
  • Compliance and oversight of the Landsong EHS Program (Landsong is an alcohol and drug-free workplace).
  • May involve irregular hours, including weekends and more than 8 hours per day.
