Experience and Qualifications

  • Civil Engineer Technologist or Civil Engineer Degree.
  • 3-5 years in Heavy Civil Construction.
Duties: Reporting to the RCC Construction Manager, the Field Engineer provides technical engineering support to construction management personnel to ensure work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and drawings. They are responsible for planning, liaising with designers, sub-contractors, quantity tracking, and reporting. They will also provide construction discipline support to other departments such as Quality, Safety, and Environmental, daily construction reporting, and assist Superintendents.
  • Quality Control tracking to ensure compliance with the Specifications (testing frequencies, material approvals, notice of inspections, etc.)
  • Assist Superintendents with long range planning including identifying and ordering, Labour, Equipment, and Material Requirements. (Fill out and submit Labour Requisitions, Flight Requisitions, POR's, Preparation of operations schedules (3-week)).
  • Track costs and productivities to identify trends.
  • Submit weekly quantities to cost controls.
  • Assist Superintendents in creation of Job Safety Analysis and administration of the operations aspects of the project safety manual.
  • Review and Submit Labour and Equipment time cards.
  • Ensure Spare Parts Warehouse is catalogued and tracked.
  • Monitor and identify maintenance trends on plants (document repairs).
  • Manage and Track Subcontractors/Material Suppliers.
