Duties: Reporting to the Station Manager, the incumbent provides leadership and training for a well test crew in the field and shop.
  • Responsible for accurate data collection, data recording, reporting of data and delivery of invoices and samples.
  • Capable of rigging equipment in and out.
  • Identify, understand and operate most equipment used in well test applications.
  • Maintain and service most equipment used in well test applications.
  • Perform the logistics of crew and equipment mobilization.
  • Identify equipment associated with the work and determine equipment requirements with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with associated oilfield services, crew and customer representatives.
  • Follow orders for assigned duties from customer representatives and management.
  • Have command of rules and regulations provided by governing regulatory bodies and employer.
  • Train employees under your supervision.
  • Responsible for personal safety, those under your direct supervision and others in the work area.
  • Portray a positive attitude towards the company, the company vehicles, as well as the company equipment.

Duties: Reporting to the Fort St John Plant Manager, the Divisional Accountant is an integral part of the mill management team and is responsible for providing accurate decision-making information that will support the Fort St John operation.

The Accountant's major focus is providing the Fort St John management team with relevant historical and forward-looking financial / statistical analysis and information, and participating in decisions that enhance the company's profitability. The role ensures that appropriate systems, policies and procedures, and internal controls are in place for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly financial closes, weekly cost reporting, monthly and quarterly forecasts, annual business plans and capital processes.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing local operational and financial analysis for senior management.
  • Coordination and liaison with both internal and external customers.
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate policies and IFRS.
  • Preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Assisting management in departmental budget control, cost/benefit analysis, and provide financial information and recommendations.
  • Coaching local operations personnel on financial matters.
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of Canfor business practices.
