Duties: The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will provide experienced and skilled design and management of projects from proposal stage through detailed design and construction. Working with Construction Managers, the Senior Geotechnical Engineer will contribute to all geotechnical works associated with Site C Dam project.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with geotechnical engineering design and delivery of track projects; providing technical expertise.
  • Work with the other teams focusing on the geotechnical aspects of construction.
  • Monitor/track progress against plans and schedules and report on status.
  • Prepare progress reports on the daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Produce engineering documents such as, design reports, cost estimates and construction specifications.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior geotechnical engineers.
  • Review and provide oversight for the geotechnical engineering team as requested.
  • Evaluation of efficiency on production sites to determine adequacy of personnel, equipment and technologies used, making changes to work schedules or equipment when necessary.

Duties: Reporting to the General Site Superintendent, the Lead Project Engineer provides engineering support to construction management personnel to ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and drawings. The lead Project Engineer will lead the Site Engineer team in terms of performance management, technical guidance and will be responsible for coaching, mentoring and managing junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the other construction team members to ensure timelines and quality standards are met in all aspects of construction activities.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

  • Establish a thorough knowledge of plans and specifications, work schedules, production targets and procedures pertaining to changes, extra work, and claims and costing.
  • Provide direction and support to Construction and Engineer Team holding regular meetings to discuss needs, issues and successes, scheduling, staffing, and training.
  • Complete performance assessments to provide timely and actionable feedback for Construction Engineers.
  • Such other specific duties and responsibilities relating to the project as assigned by his/her supervisor.
