  • Knowledge of the tunnel instrumentation, installation, reading and interpretation of the results.
  • Ability to work in the construction and manage the construction teams.
  • Ability to work in longer hours and at night if required.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 7 years' experience in civil construction preferred.
  • Previous experience on dam projects or large scale civil projects required.
  • Experience in a similar role on major civil engineering design-build projects.
  • Experience in project controls, planning, and scheduling.
  • Experience with preparing and reviewing technical reports.
  • Some computer skills, preferably MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are essential.
Duties: The Senior Civil Engineer will provide experienced and skilled design and management of projects from proposal stage through detailed design and construction. Working with Construction Managers, the Senior Civil Engineer will contribute to all civil and structural works associated with the construction in the Site C Dam project.


  • Assist with civil engineering design and delivery of track projects; providing technical expertise.
  • Prepare the detail schedule of all civil works complying with the main Site C general schedule.
  • Work with the other construction team focusing on the civil aspects of construction.
    Predicting the construction issues and planning for resolving them.
  • Monitor/track progress against plans and schedules and report on status. Prepare progress reports on the daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Produce engineering documents such as, design reports, cost estimates and construction specifications.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior civil engineers.
  • Review and provide oversight for the civil engineering team as requested.
  • Evaluation of efficiency on production sites to determine adequacy of personnel, equipment and technologies used, making changes to work schedules or equipment when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, Provincial and local laws, particularly applicable Occupational Health & Safety Act / Construction Safety Act regulations.
  • Assist with supervision of construction personal such as Foreman, Operators and Labourers.
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her supervisor.
