Qualifications: Basic/Minimum Qualifications
  • University Degree in Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) eligible for registration with APEGBC and APEGA.
  • 5 years' progressive experience in management of pipelines.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience and demonstrated aptitude in design and construction, operations and maintenance of natural gas (sweet, sour gas) pipelines and pigging facilities.
  • Valid Drivers license.
  • Working knowledge of pipeline standards and industry accepted practices, specifically CSA Z662 design code.
  • Regulatory application experience with the National Energy Board (NEB), BC Oil & Gas Commission (OGC) and Alberta Energy Regulator (AER).
  • All applicants will be expected to live in Fort St John and MUST have previous Field based exposure within pipelines and some facilities experience.
  • Must have working knowledge of CSA Z662.

Please note: THIS IS NOT A Fly in Fly out role, it will require the candidate to already live or relocate to Fort St John for the duration of the contract.

Duties: This position is accountable for ensuring assigned pipeline maintenance projects meet the desired results through strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and industry best practice. The successful candidate will specialize in the unique skills required to manage pipeline infrastructure projects. This dynamic role provides excellent project management execution by:
  • Providing leadership in developing, promoting and sustaining our client's "zero injury and zero work-related illness culture".
  • Managing all phases of the project life cycle for assigned projects (initiation, planning, detailed design and procurement, construction and commissioning, start-up and closeout) with accountability for delivering safe, efficient and effective projects.
  • Effectively managing relationships with peers in our our client's Operations & EHS in addition to our Maintenance Projects organization and other internal and external stakeholders (community and aboriginal affairs, lands, environment, regulatory, etc.).
  • Using an integrated facility management approach by participating in Area Management Teams, where appropriate, and working with Operations, Maintenance and Planning to manage risk collaboratively and support the implementation of the Asset Management processes.
  • Supporting the Capital Program processes for maintenance projects: support development of Annual Budgets and Long Range Forecasts; management of Annual Budgets; monthly & quarterly cost forecasting. Accountable for delivering on annual pipelines maintenance projects (approx. 20-30) each valued from $20K to $10MM.
  • Executing projects in compliance with the Project Management (PRM) Program processes.
  • Ensuring capital projects efficiently and effectively mitigate safety, reliability, compliance and environmental risk while driving optimization in existing infrastructure.
  • Identifying, mitigating, and communicating project risk. Ensure mitigation plans are in place for all medium and high risks.
  • Participating in the selection of engineering consultants.

Job Title: Material Technical Planner/Scheduler

Qualifications: Required Experience/Knowledge
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plant operations and logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and schedule major outage projects.
  • Competency in advanced job scoping & estimating.

Technical Entry

  • Qualified Trades person, Engineer or Operator with a steam ticket.
  • Minimum 2 years as Technical Planner/Scheduler I with proven estimating skills.
  • Completed an accepted certification in Maintenance Planning and Scheduling.
  • Hiring of a Trades person, Operator or Engineer, at salary grade 8 based on the incumbent having the skills and knowledge to perform the responsibility of this level
    They must have plant/pipeline knowledge be competent in SAP have a strong understanding of relevant WM and possess excellent computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and schedule major outage projects.
Duties: Perform all of the duties of Technical Planner/Scheduler I.

This senior level is viewed as an expert in the fields of planning, scheduling, inventory, procurement and the integrated management system (e.g. PM, MM, CO). The incumbent can act as a group leader to lower level Planner/Schedulers Shares own expertise to support the achievement of business goals and will train, coach and mentor lower level Planner/Schedulers.
