Job Title: Land & Resource Coordinator

Wages: $60,531.87 - $69,104,56 annually
Qualifications: In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
  • Bachelor's degree in sustainable resource management or natural resource management field or acceptable equivalent and 3 years relevant work experience; OR
  • Master's degree in sustainable resource management or natural resource management field or acceptable equivalent and 1 year relevant work experience.
  • Experience facilitating groups whose members hold varying interests, in a natural resource context.
  • Experience participating in the development of natural resource management plans and strategies.
  • Experience managing projects and working with project teams.
  • Experience resolving conflicts in a manner that satisfies multiple interests, in a natural resource management context.
  • Preference may be given to those with a forestry background, including experience identifying and communicating impacts to the forest industry.

Duties: In collaboration with other natural resource sector agencies, the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations (FLNRO) acts as British Columbia's land management agency. As the land manager, FLNRO develops policies, objectives and strategies to guide the stewardship of resource values and the authorization of responsible resource development.

As part of the Ministry's Regional Operations division, the Resource Management team is responsible for the integrated delivery of stewardship outcomes, including fish and wildlife management, ecosystem and habitat conservation, cumulative effects assessment, natural resources research, and geospatial analysis and decision support.

The Land and Resource Coordinator (LRC) is part of a 5 person team primarily focused on Caribou Projects within the North East. This position works with a project team drawn from across government agencies, First Nations and other partners to develop solutions that address complex stewardship issues and balance multiple interests. An effective communicator, you support project teams by leading technical analysis and options development, process facilitation, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
